Conditions
The precipitation threshold, covered time period and deductible are determined when you purchase your coverage, based on your travel dates and your insured location.
Your coverage
Receive CAN$100 for each covered and compensable rainy day, regardless of the number of insured travellers.
Insured location
Your insured location is the location you specify when purchasing your coverage (hotel, cottage, campground, vacation rental, etc.). Rainfall is measured automatically at that location.
Covered rainy day
A day qualifies as a covered rainy day when rainfall measured at your insured location exceeds the applicable precipitation threshold during the covered time period.
Rainy Day deductible
A deductible may apply. Covered rainy days that occur during the deductible period are not eligible for compensation.
No compensation is paid in the following situations:
-
The amount of rainfall does not exceed the covered precipitation threshold specified when you purchased your coverage.
-
Rain occurs outside the covered time period at your insured location.
-
Rainfall is measured at a location other than the insured location specified when you purchased your coverage.
-
The precipitation is something other than rain (for example, hail, snow, or sleet).
-
There is loss of or damage to property, regardless of the cause.
-
Rain occurs during the applicable deductible period.
